TEMPLE: Provo Utah Temple

To be honest and upfront, I’ve never been amazed by the look of the Provo Utah Temple. But while I was photographing this House of the Lord during my statewide road trip, I was hit with the beauty of the whole atmosphere of the temple. When standing west of the temple, the majestic mountains towered in the background. The temple grounds were full of flowers and vibrant with colors. After the 20-minute time limit ended, we headed to the next temple, but I left more impressed with the Provo Utah Temple than when I had started.

The Provo Utah Temple is located just east of the Provo Missionary Training Center, meaning that thousands of young men and women who are preparing to serve the Lord have the opportunity to go through the temple weekly. In 1999, I was one of those thousands and enjoyed participating in the ordinances of the temple.

The Provo Utah Temple is the 15th operating temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In 2003, the temple underwent an exterior renovation, adding an Angel Moroni to the newly-painted-white center spire.
